Halim Dunsky
Coming over the hill this morning
you saw the mountains flung across the sky
breastbones wide
creating space for the heart to expand,
the lungs to fill with icy sunlit air
The mountains breathe
at the pace of the day
inhale with the sunrise
exhale with the deepening dark
When the breaths of your life
bring you again to shaded city canyons
where towers rise up only for the bearing down
and cold air reaches in to suck
all hope from your warm bones
Hold on young man
the time for letting go
is not yet
Breathe with the mountains
