Lakota Sweat Lodge Cards
A review by Bert H. Hoff

This is a a book and set of Tarot-like cards, based on Archie Lame Deer’s interpretation of Lakota sweat lodge traditions. Whether or not you believe Tarot cards, or angel cards, or crystal balls, or letting a Bible open to reveal a passage are scientifically sound predictive techniques or intervention of the spirits is not the point. When you pick a Tarot card or a Sweat Lodge Card and read the interpretation, your reaction to the card reveals something to you about where you are. The cards are tools, to allow you to listen to your inner intuition. The cards are beautiful. The book of instruction and card interpretations is clear. What more can I say? Except that the first three people I showed these two promptly went out and bought their own sets. |
