you come to me from the underside of the petals and as I smile with surprise and turn the daisy over to see you more clearly suddenly your breath presses against the back of my neck, your belly at my spine I fit myself closer and while you fold me in, the music of you, rich and dark, pours out through your skin into secret passages somewhere between my vertebrae. . . infusions of light and accuracy and coherence meet with the delicate complexities in me and I sigh and laugh and love the quiet invitation in your eyes as I peek at you from the underside of this dark and difficult daisy
